Apparently, there was talk in Austria that the F1 Strategy Group is considering instituting a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , rather than a rolling start as is done now. They figure it will improve the show. Okay. You know, they used to have a tip-off in basketball after every goal, but they ditched that idea because it was just f**king stupid and a waste of time. Much like this idea.

So after a safety car period because a driver broke down in the middle of the track you want to line everyone up on a hot track on a hot day and have them sit so that you risk someone sitting there in the middle of the track broken down...MAKES SENSE!

Of course. Because wrecks are exciting. Just ask any NASCAR fan.

I'm one of the people that likes the leader leads restart they use now. It does a decent job of getting the race going while maintaining positions.
My wife on the other hand loves the idea of standing restarts. She's a casual watcher and if I'm on travel she'll only go out of her way to watch Monoco, Spa, Silverstone, and Monza. Some quotes when I mentioned it to her: "Wow, that sounds really cool", "The start is often the most interesting part of the race", "It would have been funny to watch Webber lose 5 positions every restart".
Note, she still complains about the sound of the new engines every single race, practice, qually, that she happens to watch.

So they intend to abolish the full course caution and go straight to a red flag? Will teams be able to call time out too?
